There has never been a time when I have not been creative. Always seeing, always doing something artistic, every single day. I specialised in textile design for A level, loving patterns, it seemed a natural choice. I also loved taking photographs., still do. I started working as a professional photographer for Brides & Setting Up Home and had photographs published in various other national magazines too. I spent a couple of years working in the editorial department of House & Garden Magazine learning so much from observing some of the best interior photographers’ of the time. Needing a hobby alongside working as a portrait photographer in my thirties, I re-discovered clay, taking myself off to learn different techniques at West Dean College and Putney School of Art. Following on from that and a move from London to Kent, my son’s wonderful reception teacher, invited me to teach her class how to play with clay. It was such a success that I was asked if I would like to set up an after school club which I did and called it Play with Clay. It was a very rewarding period. Since then I have continued to broaden and hone my artistic skills whether it be drawing, embroidery or ceramics. Most recently I have learn’t how to make my own paint using milk, vinegar, slaked lime and natural pigments.
